Well, isn’t this totally unexpected?
Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger, the 16th entry in Toei’s long running Super Sentai Series which had it’s footage used extensively for the first season of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and also gave birth to the Power Rangers franchise overall, was announced to be released at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con by Brian Ward over at Shout! Factory, the company that has been releasing individual volumes of separate Power Rangers seasons as well as the exclusive 20th anniversary legacy collection which was released earlier in January of this year which contains all 20 seasons from Mighty Morphin to the most recent Megaforce as well as The first seasons of Big Bad Beetleborgs and VR Troopers on DVD.
At this time, no other information has been revealed like if it will be officially subtitled, the release date or the price. If it does contain official English subtitles, then that means that Grown Ups In Spandex and TV-Nihon will have to remove their subs from their sites.
Grown Ups In Spandex has finished subbing Zyuranger while TV-Nihon is still in the process of subbing the season. So if Zyuranger will be having official English subtitles then that means that TV-Nihon will have to cease and desist with subbing Zyuranger. So if you haven’t downloaded the subs for the show that gave us Power Rangers, now is the time to download the season.
Update: Looks like Grown Ups In Spandex pulled their Zyuranger subs, but you can still find them here: http://krdl.info/display/show/zyurangerguis/
sentaitokufan asked: Hey EZ, I wanted to ask you something. Why do you support TV-N? I read your Twitter posts often and I noticed that you're only going to watch the Wizard x Gaim movie right now, after TV-N released it, even though the movie was already out in April, with subs by Over-Time. Also I notice that you wait until TV-N's Gaim subs come out, a week later after Aesir's subs. Are you not aware that TV-N subs are cluttered with mistranslations, grammar issues, eye-straining fonts and untranslated words?
1) It’s just what I’m used to. I don’t like changing my routine.
2) I know they make mistakes. That’s why pencils have erasers. No one is perfect.
3) It’s the little things. It’s the title cards, some of the fonts are cool and break up the monotony, and the graphics that someone goes out of their way to add in that make the transformations look better. You could call me stupid for “just looking at the pretty colors and shiny things” I don’t care. But people work hard to make them and as an editor myself I’d like to think their hard work wasn’t all for nothing.
4) Who cares how you watch toku? It’s not a popularity contest. You watch how you want and I’ll watch how I want. Be glad we’re getting to see these amazing shows and stop making a competition out of everything.
Peace. God bless.
Absolutely agree with everything EZ, especially the 4th one. That’s why I appreciate TV-Nihon for what they do. All of these people that turn this into a popularity contest just to see “Which is better” need to realize that there wouldn’t even be an underground toku fan base here in America and other countries if it wasn’t for the fan subbing sites like TV-Nihon as well as many others, and that you wouldn’t be able to do your show without unofficial subtitles from fan subbing sites.
People have seriously got to stop hating on TV-Nihon because they aren’t that bad and they go above and beyond for their fan subs. That’s all I’m going to say about this.

theres-no-real-love-in-you asked: Do you know if any of the Japanese versions of power rangers have couples?? My friend would like to know :)
http://akizukisentai.blogspot.com/2014/02/my-favorite-sentai-romances.html Here’s a list of all of the Sentai couples with both Heroes and villains .And you can also Watch EZ Rider’s review of Jetman for his thoughts on the love triangle between Gai, Ryu and Kaori.
Japanese television was a lot less strict when it came to having romance and relationships in Super Sentai unlike how it was with Kimberly and Tommy from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers here in America.
